This time of year I always like to post “Brother & Sister” (2009). The film is based on the poem by Terri Windling, with music by Priscilla Hernandez, titles by Ted Woods, cinematography by Jeff Bernier – and stars Michelle Santagate (HELL), and Seth Harris.
My actors were such troopers, braving the cold (27 degrees), and snow and dipping their hands into frigid water. We did a lot of laughing on production days – particularly when people ski’d through our “set”. We shot this in Central Park (NYC). Just over a year later, a terrific storm raged through destroying many of the trees you see in this film. You can’t even get down to the stream anymore.
This beautiful, quiet tale has always been one of my favorites – great memories from set, a message about strength and individuality, and a look that, to me, captures some of the magic of Arthur Rackham (who was a major influence).
Hope you enjoy as well. (click the HERE to watch the film) **HAPPY HOLIDAYS! Lisa
