2013 will be a very special year for me as I am celebrating 10 years of creativity under “InByTheEye”.
The image above is from the first film I created under “InByTheEye” in 2003 – “A:The Siren’s Edda”. It features Stephanie Martini Papoulis, Nicole Phelps, and Glenn Peters – and tells the tale of three sets of women over three different time periods (ancient, 1800’s, present day) as they grow and cope amidst betrayal and hope. Thus started a line of films, writings, plays, and art featuring women’s journeys (under a magic realist eye) as the primary theme of my work.
When I look back over the last 10 years I’m truly overwhelmed and appreciative of all the experiences I’ve had at InByTheEye and all the people I’ve been fortunate to cross paths with. My creativity has grown in ways I didn’t expect and explored avenues I didn’t know existed. And the opportunities in front of me now are some of the most exciting and meaningful I’ve ever encountered.
Over the next several months I’ll bring various elements out of the “vault” from past projects and share them with you. In August, the actual anniversary, I’ll have something very special planned to wrap up this 10 years and head off into the next decade.
Most of all I’ll be very glad to have all of you with me on the journey.
Wishing you and your loved ones a very happy, healthy, and groundbreaking New Year!
