I entered the ENO (English National Opera) Mini-Opera Film Competition today. It was a fast and furious production – with the wonderful Gina Rickicki, Keith Brooks, and Sebastian Gorsuch. The program had a terrific collaborative spirit to it. Librettos written from a short story, soundtracks written from the libretto finalists, and then the films created from the soundtrack finalists. It was challenging! And difficult to work on because of the tragic topic – a mother lingers in her dreams because that is where she can still see her deceased son… Well, it’s opera!
I learned a lot while doing this. And was most proud of the Ferris Wheel scene. I created 4 masks to insert that moving Ferris Wheel into the shot. I’ve included two screen captures below.
And now, back to the things that were interrupted when I decided to take on this project!
